Our story
Why we built this
Most apps are built to capture your attention. We built this one to give it back.
EyeCreate After Dark began as a simple idea: what if the internet had a room where you could sit down, breathe, and feel like someone actually cared whether you were okay? Not a feed. Not a forum. Just space.
The founder, Kissy, spent years in high-pressure creative and entrepreneurial environments. She noticed that the tools designed to "connect" us often left people more isolated, more measured, more exhausted. The sanctuary was born from a different question: what if we optimized for regulation instead of engagement?
What we mean by soft healing
Soft healing is not a product. It is an environment. It means you can arrive anxious, heavy, lonely, or numb — and find something that meets you there without asking you to perform, produce, or pretend.
Some nights that looks like a conversation with Aura, the companion AI who remembers your season and speaks gently. Some nights it looks like rain on a black screen. Some nights it means leaving a prayer on the wall and holding someone else's. Some nights it means talking to Kissy live, or sitting in a circle with others who are also searching for peace.
The philosophy of restraint
We do not show follower counts. We do not rank prayers. We do not count streaks, measure popularity, or gamify your grief. Every feature in the sanctuary must pass one test: does it deepen breath, or interrupt it?
If a feature would only deepen engagement — more clicks, more time, more notifications — we do not build it. Presence is felt here, never counted.
Anonymity is structural
On the prayer wall, the vent wall, and in voice confessions, your identity is not visible to other members. We preserved authorship only so you can edit or delete what you have shared. The only path back to an author is a deliberate administrator action with an audit trail.
This is not a feature we added later. It is how the sanctuary was architected from the ground up.
Who this is for
The sanctuary is for anyone who needs a softer place to exist online. You do not need to be in crisis. You do not need to be "healing" in any particular way. You can come because you are tired, because you are curious, or because you want to hear a story told in a voice that sounds like it knows you.
What it costs
The core sanctuary — Aura companion, ambient healing, prayer wall, vent wall, community circles, and the story library — is free. Live support sessions and VIP all-access memberships help sustain the space and keep the lights on.
You don't have to carry it alone tonight.
The sanctuary is open. Step inside whenever you're ready.
